Workshops/Calendar
From time to time, I will be scheduling workshops. But I am available at any time to design a workshop or consultation specific to your needs.
My workshops are designed in such a way that individual participants can grow as a result of their own idiosyncratic experiences as well as learning from the exchange of the diversity of experiences and ideas shared by others in the group. It is in this way that we are reminded of our common ground. Here are some workshops I have lead in the past, and some ideas for new offerings.
AGING AS AN IMPROVISATIONAL ART
Conversations and practices looking at the gifts and challenges of aging and how to live in the light of its truth.
CELEBRATION OF OUR COMMON GROUND WITH THE NATURAL WORLD
Let us meet the natural world and discover the wisdom of its teachings as we explore our identity and where we are going.
JOURNAL WRITING AS MEDITATION
Journaling is not a diary, and there is no requirement about frequency. What it is, is an opportunity for exploring deeply our relationship to the self and others. This is where we can ask hard questions and risk taking off the masks we each wear in our daily lives. Getting started is often difficult. Come explore ways for moving beyond initial blocks and for maintaining a journal practice.
THE GREEN MAN AND THE BLACK MADONNA
Explore bringing balance into your being through meeting the divine feminine and the sacred masculine within and learning how to hold both simultaneously.
TRAVELLING AROUND THE MEDICINE WHEEL
Learn about a modern application of the Native American Medicine Wheel, personally explore each of its four directions – east, endings and new beginnings; south, childhood, play, ego; west, adolescence, looking within, darkness; and north, bringing one’s gifts into community; and share your stories.
Traveling Around the Medicine Wheel is a two-day workshop. Half-day workshops are offered by exploring one direction at a time:
EAST – LETTING GO AND NEW BEGINNINGS
SOUTH – GIVING VOICE TO THE CHILD WITHIN
WEST – INTO THE DARKNESS
NORTH – CLAIMING YOUR GIFTS
All workshops can be tailored to the needs of a specific group.
WRITING AS A THERAPEUTIC TOOL
Writing can be playful, intentional, freeing, agonizing and surprising; but, at heart, it opens a window to the soul. In our work with clients, whether adults, teens, children, or families, we are assisting them to build a healthier relationship to the self and with the significant others in their lives. At the same time, we therapists are forever meeting ourselves. This didactic and experiential workshop will offer practical writing tools and techniques for both clients and therapists to assist in meeting the goals of therapy, in deepening the therapist’s connection to self, and in helping all in our common journey to wholeness.
